The church elects or approves, annually, a Board of Deacons. The deacons are ordained in accordance with the characteristics of 1st Timothy 3:8-13 and the rules of the Church of Christ (Holiness) USA. It is the duty of the deacons to assist the pastor in all spiritual and financial work of the church. They are the pastor’s special helpers, working harmoniously in the best interest of the church.

The Deacon Board provides leadership of the congregation in expressing and implementing the vision of the pastor and for his support.

Goals and Objectives

The Deacon Board of New Lake Church seeks to minister to the spiritual, physical and emotional needs of members, families, and the community served by the church through the Deacons Family Ministry Plan.

The Deacon Board serves by fostering a close Christian relationship through teaching and practicing a lifestyle of prayer, caring and sharing.

The purpose of the Trustee Board is to assist with the business decisions of the church from a financial perspective. They are also charged with the responsibility of overseeing the upkeep of the church infrastructure and the church grounds.

The Deaconess Board consists of women who devote their time to assisting the pastor and the deacons with carrying out the mission of the local church. This spiritual work includes ministering to lost souls, comforting the sick and grieving, praying for those in need, and providing Christian guidance to other church women and their families. The deaconesses also assist in the Lord’s Supper by preparing the designated table for the Holy Communion. They also prepare candidates for Baptism by personally contacting the candidates, their families and church administrators regarding the scheduled service. Additionally, deaconesses assist with assigned duties of the church involving child evangelism, youth development and general church growth.
