Our Pastor's Profile

Elder Eddie L. Brown, Sr., is the pastor of New Lake Church of Christ (Holiness) USA in Jackson, Mississippi. He has been married to Sis. Florateen Brown for 33 years and counting. They are the proud parents of three children; Erica, Eddie Jr. and Elencia Fleming. They have one son-in-law, Johnny Fleming.

Elder Brown has been preaching the Gospel for 22 years, and for 21 years, has served as pastor to six churches in Mississippi’s South Central Diocese of the Church of Christ (Holiness) U.S.A. These churches are: Mt. Olive, New Home, Spring Beulah, Sweet Rest, St. Peter’s, and his present home, New Lake. He has been ably leading the congregation of New Lake for six years; and the church’s membership has grown during that time.

Elder Brown has served the South Central Diocese as a Board Member of His Fullness Ministries, the South Central Diocese’s Radio Broadcast (1983-1996); President, His Fullness Ministries (1993-96); Assistant District Chairman of the South Mississippi District; and District Chairman of the Central Mississippi District. He currently serves on the Ordination Committee for the South Central Diocese and as a National Evangelist for the Church of Christ (Holiness) U.S.A.

Elder Brown preaches with depth and passion, using his talents to bridge the gap between his generation and the younger generation. In many of his sermons, he mentions the dedication of his mother and late father; two major influences on his life. His strong Christian upbringing allowed him to give his life to Christ in 1980 and to use those teachings to encourage and inspire others. Elder Brown’s sermons are energetic, powerful, spiritually guided, and every now and then, they are infused with appropriate humor.

Elder Brown can also be seen in the community evangelizing, as he leads the Evangelism Ministry of the church. He often wears a cap marked “Gone Fishing” during his evangelizing; indicating his dedication to winning souls for Christ. Elder Brown believes in reaching the lost and teaching the saved to serve as disciples. His warmth, sincerity, smile, energy, dedication, and love of God and his family, has translated into his dynamism as a leader; allowing for a strong church family. He is undoubtedly a man of God; and as he says continuously, he is “to the highlands bound, seeking higher ground.”
